How we handle cabinet painting
Cabinets get touched more than any other painted surface in a home, so the prep has to be right. We remove doors and hardware, label everything, and degrease every surface. Then we sand and use a bonding primer so the paint grips old stained or glossy wood.
We use cabinet-grade paint that cures hard and resists chips, grease, and fingerprints. Doors and drawer fronts get painted in a controlled setup for a smooth, even look. Cabinet boxes are painted in place with the kitchen covered and protected.
Oak and cherry cabinets from the 1990s and 2000s are common across the metro. They are usually solid and well built, which makes them great candidates for paint. A new color and updated hardware can make the whole kitchen feel new.
